ChatGPT and Gemini Cross the 1 Billion User Mark

Both ChatGPT and Gemini have now passed the 1 billion user milestone, marking a new stage in the competition between the world's leading AI platforms.

According to The Verge, Google says Gemini has reached 1 billion monthly users, up from 750 million in February 2026. OpenAI confirmed that ChatGPT had already crossed 1 billion monthly users earlier and reached 1 billion weekly users in July.

Available figures suggest ChatGPT remains the larger platform, while Gemini is growing rapidly as Google expands its AI ecosystem.
